India retained the same squad for the last four ODIs of the bilateral series against Australia despite trailing 1-2 after the first three games.

Ishant had a nightmarish game against Australia when he leaked 63 off eight overs, including 30 in one against James Faulkner, which handed the visitors an improbable victory. The lanky pacer from Delhi had gone for 70 off nine in the second ODI and gave away 56 off seven in the first and as India's senior-most bowler has returned only two wickets so far. Vinay Kumar has been equally unimpressive and barring Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, who has kept his run rate below six in the three matches so far, the death bowling by the pacers has been a major cause for concern.

However, Dhoni, who had defended his bowlers after the four-wicket defeat in Mohali, insisted the need to persist with players.

"It will be unfair that all of a sudden when you lose one or two matches and you want playing eleven bowler to be removed and thrown out of the team by saying he is not good," said Dhoni.

"It's very important to persist with them, to give them experience because they are the part of the side. They are the most talented people and let's back them," Dhoni said.

Squad: MS Dhoni (captain), Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, R Ashwin, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ishant Sharma, Vinay Kumar, Amit Mishra, Ambati Rayudu, Mohammad Shami, Jaydev Unadkat
