The club cricket veteran is a highly-regarded leg-spinner and a useful middle-order batsman. Tambe’s cricketing career received a late fillip when he was called up by Mumbai for the 2013 Vijay Hazare Trophy.
Golden Bat:
A solid opening batsman when he first began, Ajinkya Rahane now bats at
No.3 for Mumbai. Changing batting positions hasn’t affected Rahane one
bit, and he still goes about piling big scores on a regular basis. With a
solid technique and sound temperament, he has been churning out runs in
the domestic circuit and has what it takes to succeed on the big stage.
In IPL 2012 the youngster was the leading run-getter RR with 560 runs
with an average of 40. He also hit an unbeaten century in the shortest
format of the game. Rahane bettered his IPL best in the 2013 season,
scoring 458 runs in the 2013 season.
